Continuing Legal Education Board

Pursuant Rule 1 of the Supreme Court of Arkansas's Rules Governing Admission to the Bar, the Continuing Legal Education Board shall be composed of nine (9) members, appointed by the Supreme Court of Arkansas, all of whom are resident members of the Bar of Arkansas. In addition, the Dean of each Arkansas law school accredited by the American Bar Association shall be a non-voting ex officio member. There shall be at least one (1) member from each of the four congressional districts. The Executive Director of the Office of Professional Programs for the Supreme Court of Arkansas shall serve as Secretary, without a vote.

All appointments shall be made by the Supreme Court of Arkansas for terms of three (3) years. Board members may be reappointed but may serve no more than two (2) terms of three (3) years. The Supreme Court of Arkansas shall fill all vacancies, with the appointee to serve the remaining term, for such position, subject to reappointment in accord with this rule. Any Board member whose term expires shall continue in office until their successor is appointed and qualified.
